Bukovinian State Medical University

Bukovinian State Medical University is a modern multistructural educational institution of the fourth level of accreditation with ancient traditions - it was founded in October 1944. Medical University is located in the magnificent core of Chernovtsy-city. This beautiful city with inimitable architecture, museums, shady alleys in its parks and public gardens, summer cafes which can be found literally round every corner attracts tourists and students from across the country and abroad. They come to admire the past and the present which blend so harmoniously together in our historical city established in 1408. City in quiet, inexpensive and very comfortable for living and every 5th person is a student from one of its numerous educational institutions.

At present 65 Professors and more than 295 Assistant Professors (PhD) work fruitfully at 40 Departments of the Medical University. Among them there are Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, numerous Honored Science and Education Workers, Full Members of New York Academy of Medical Sciences. The researches of the University have attained considerable achievements in the fields of cardiology, Traumatology and orthopedics, gastroenterology, pediatrics, kidney physiology and pathology. More than 100 of faculties' staff have gone to countries of Asia, Africa and Central America at different times and worked in various higher medical institutions; they have a good command of foreign languages and rich experience working with students from abroad.

Bukovinian State Medical University Curriculum

There are Medical faculties in specialties:

• General medicine, Pediatrics, Medical Psychology, Clinical Pharmacology;
• Faculty of Post-Graduate Education (clinical residency, fellowships, PhD programs);
• Preparatory Faculty intended for Teaching Russian to foreign students;
• Faculty for Bachelors and Junior Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers in specialties: Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory Diagnostics.

Bukovinian State Medical University Fee Structure
Tuition fee at the Preparatory Faculty makes up $1000. An annual tuition fee at the University amounts for Russian medium - $2750, for English medium - $2950. Fellowship and PhD tuition is about $2500. There are 6 dormitories attached to the University where all the necessary facilities for residence and studies have been created. The rent for living at a dormitory is $20-50 per month. Students start in September-October, fellowship in October-November.

Admission Procedure
Admissions to undergraduate and post graduate courses are open for all foreign students, who are fulfilling the eligibility criteria of BSMU and of the respective country.
Following Procedure is given only for students who are citizens of India and applying in accordance with Medical Council of India .

Admission Eligibility for Students from India
Minimum 50% marks in Physics + Biology + Chemistry including practical in 12 th Science. For Reserve Category minimum 40% is required.
Candidate must be above 17 year of age.
( Eligibility for getting admission in Undergraduate course (for Indian Students): As per the part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, extra-ordinary issue dated 18.02.2002, an Indian citizen desirous of joining an undergraduate medical course in any foreign medical institution on or after 15th March 2002 shall have Eligibility Certificate issued by Medical Council of India, New Delhi.
