Our vision is to make Bahria University the best educational institute in the country for quality education. We have inducted highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty to impart education and training in health sciences at par with international standards .

Along with education the University curriculum, the scheme of training caters for general grooming of students through host of co-curricular activities.

Message From the Principal
BUMDC has state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and learning. Experienced and dedicated teaching faculty of basic sciences and clinical subjects are available to groom and mentor the future medical fraternity of Pakistan. Many new faculty members of different subjects have joined us and college has much expanded in terms of faculty and facilities.

More than 300 medical students are studying in the college. Quality medical education is the objective which we have achieved so far and is the aim for the future also. New entrants are most welcome to join the campus to become competent, proficient and ethical medical practitioners.

Academic Council
BUMDC is represented at the Academic Council of Bahria University by the Principal of the College and professors nominated by the College. All matters of academic policy are referred to the Academic Council by the Principal of the Medical College.

BUMDC Faculty Board of Studies
Board meetings are chaired by the Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Principals of constituent and affiliated medical colleges of Bahria University (by designation), professors nominated by Bahria University, Director Examinations, Director Academic Affairs and Director Health Sciences are its members. All matters related to academic activities are put-up in meetings. Board meetings are held six monthly and the Board can meet earlier when need arises.

Accreditation
The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at BUM&DC is a five-years program, accredited by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (the statutory, regulatory and registration authority for medical and dental education and practitioners in Pakistan).

About PNS SHIFA Karachi
PNS SHIFA is a teaching hospital of BUMDC. Over the years, PNS SHIFA has evolved into an institute of immense repute. All the departments including Emergency Department, specialized units of Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Pulmonology, Cardiology, and Radiology are equipped with state of the art technology. SHIFA is also playing an important role in the training of doctors for higher qualification like MCPS and FCPS. In this regards the standard and reputation of the professional teaching is so immense that civilian doctors prefer to come to SHIFA for the training despite the presence of other training institute like Civil Hospital, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and Agha Khan Hospital. Also the College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan, which is the most elite professional medical institute of the country, holds PNS Shifa in high esteem, and FCPS-II students belonging to all specialities complete their attachments in the hospital. Recent affiliation with BUMDC as teaching hospital is yet another milestone to this institution.

PNS SHIFA has already been recognized by PMDC for purpose of under-graduate medical education, as well. The MBBS classes have all ready started in the BUMDC. According to the master plan, the state of the art building of BUMDC will be constructed adjacent to PNS SHIFA in near future. In addition, PNS SHIFA is also a training centre for the nursing officers, nursing cadets and medical branch personnel.
