This College was established by the Medical & Health Department, Govt. of Rajasthan in 1965. On 17th July 1965, the first batch of 75 students was admitted. Subsequently, the number of admissions per year increased to 100. The first batch of this college graduated in 1969. That year, this college was named after the renowned educationalist, politician, and freedom fighter, Dr. Sampurnanand. In 1975, postgraduate courses commenced. At present, this Institute is conducting 19 PG courses for 58 students every year.
The college has an Auditorium, a Council Hall, and an air-conditioned Library. Lecture theatres with Audio-visual facilities, Laboratories for all non clinical subjects (Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology) and a Dissection Hall for Anatomy are in place. Sports facilities include a Tennis Court, Badminton Court, a Cricket Ground, and a Swimming Pool.
The hospitals attached to Dr. SN Medical College are the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, the Umaid Hospital, the Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, the Kamala Nehru TB & Chest Hospital, and the Psychiatric Hospital.
Maharana Bhupal Hospital
This is the main hospital of the city. This hospital is well equipped with new areas of medical science like Neurosciences, Cardio-thorosic etc, with 1030 beds in different wards. This hospital consists of 37 wards (including male & Female), 06 Operation theatres with major, minor, emergency and cardio-thoracic facility. A separate block is assigned to well equip central laboratory in which Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry lab services are there.
Approximate every department have its own ICU and Day care units. Approximately 488256 patients were treated in OPD in 2008and 301789 patients were treated In IPD in 2008. Approximately 19054 operations were done in 2008 in which 13276 are major and 5778 are minor.
Pannadhay Female Hospital
The hospital was established in 2006. Presently obstetric and gynecology departments are serving in this hospital. The hospital is well equipped with 7 wards about 250 beds, 5 intensive care units, 4 operation theatres in which 1 is main operation theatres and 2 for labor room and one is OT are running for OPD services.
Approximately 114299 patients were treated in OPD in 2008. Approximately 41355 patients were treated in IPD with 250 operations in the year of 2008.
TB Hospital
This hospital established in 1960. This building consist 8 wards & about 230 beds, 1 Intensive care Unit, 2 OT and 2 laboratories. The main feature of this hospital is it long boundary with pleasing plantation. Every ward has its own separate building, while distance between two wards is about 150 meters. A separate block is assigned to OPD services.
Approximately 21000 patients were treated in 2008. Approximately 8500 patients were treated in IPD in last year. Averagely 10 operations are performing per day.

His Highness Sh. Ummed Singhji, erstwhile ruler of Jodhpur founded the Windom Hospital on 9th September, 1932 with a bed strength of 300. After Independence, it was named "Mahatma Gandhi Hospital" by Late Sardar Patel. At present it has a bed capacity of 624.
The departments at this hospital include: General Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Radiodiagnosis, and Forensic Medicine. This hospital has Pathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology Labs, Surgical and Orthopaedic Operation Theatres, Haemodialysis facilities, and a 12 Bedded ICU. A Telemedicine Center at this hospital is helping doctors working at the District Hospitals and Primary Health Centers.
This Gynaecolology and Paediatric Hospital was built before independence in the year 1938 by the erstwhile ruler Ummed Singh Ji at a cost of 12.92 Lakhs. At present the bed capacity of the hospital is 653. This hospital has facilities for antenatal checkup, Labor rooms, and Operation theatres for obstetric and gynaecological procedures, and paediatric surgery. Investigation facilities for radiology, pathology and biochemistry are available. A Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit equipped with monitors and ventilators provides to paediatric patients. A Thallesemia Day Care Centre is available for thallesemia patients. The Regional Institute of Maternal and Child Health and Regional Blood Bank Centre are also located at this Hospital.
The foundation stone of this Hospital was laid in 1974 by the then Chief Minister Shri Harideo Joshi, and was inaugurated in 1979 with a capacity of 200 beds, which stands presently at 493 beds. The departments working in this hospital are: Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Radiotherapy, Urology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, ENT, Dentistry in addition to separate units of Anaesthesia, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Radiology, and Forensic Medicine. This hospital also has a Trauma Center. Pathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories are functional. Shortly, separate units of Gynaecology and Paediatrics will also be started in this hospital.
This hospital was started in the year 1965 and converted to a Teaching Hospital in 1967. It caters to patients of tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases. The department has the facilities of fibro-optic bronchoscopy, pulmonary functions tests and non invasive ventilator. This hospital was started in 1980 with 85 beds. Presently there are 30 separate beds for drug de-addiction center with total bed capacity of 115.
