EZUTHACHAN COLLEGE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

History
The College was established in 2003 with a view to disseminate the epistemological outlooks of Indian culture; giving major attention to the realm of Medical Education. It is a prestigious institution under the Ezhuthachan National Academy. This noble venture is in line with the academy's objective of starting Educational Institutions in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and other Para-medical courses. Rendering quality education in the field of Pharmacy and thus produce Pharmacists useful to the Society is the commitment undertaken by the College.

Ezhuthachan National Academy, an educational wing of the Thunchan Smaraka samithi was founded in 1990 with the aim of stepping into the academic field to bring up the intellectual talents in the young generation and thus fulfill the desires of the great poet Thunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthachan. Over the years the Academy had started educational institutions in different parts of Kerala.

Ezhuthachan National Academy is a registered organization under the Travancore Scientific, Literary and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955. The academy has retired Vice-chancellors, renowned advocates, Professors and persons of eminence under the leadership of Dr. V. Probodhachandran Nayar( Chairman, Kerala Kalamandalam).

Thunchath Ramanujan Ezuthachan
Kerala, popularly known as "Gods own country" is blessed with the birth of great poets, scholars, philosophers and sages. Among all Thunchath Ramanujan Ezuthachan requires special mention. He is known as the father of Malayalam language and has made valuable contributions to Keralites.

It goes without saying, that generations after generations he is remembered in the minds of all Keralites. The great poet has dreamt of disseminating the treasure of knowledge, wisdom and ethics to the subjects of Kerala.

Thunchan Smaraka Samithi formed in 1967 is a tribute to the great poet. This Samithi have been actively involved in conducting social and cultural programs in Kerala. Renowned persons from all walks of life are voluntarily taking part in the success of these programs.

DURATION OF THE COURSE
The course of study for B.Pharm shall extend over a period of four academic years. Each academic year consists of not less than 200 working days For those admitted directly in to the second year, the course of study for B.Pharm course shall extend over a period of three academic years.

FEE FOR B.PHARM
Merit Quota

Fee for the admission to the course will have to be paid by the candidate at the Allotment Centre it self. Refund of Fee in case of cancellation of seat will be as per the provisions in the Prospectus issued by the CEE and the existing Government Orders.

Liquidated Damages
Candidate who discontinues the course after securing admission in the merit quota is liable to pay Rs. 50,000/- as liquidated damages (see clause 12.2.4 of Prospectus issued by the CEE). Exemption for this is allowed only in specific cases and for those categories listed under clause 12.2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OEC are exempted from this rule.

Also these candidates belonging to Keralite Category as per Clause 6.1 (i) of the Prospectus whose family income is below Rs. 1,00,000/- and who have submitted Income Certificate along with the Application for Admission to Professional Degree Courses, 2006 will also be exempted from payment of liquidated damages.

Management Quota
A candidate who secures admission under Management Quota will have to pay fees as laid down by the Fee Regulatory Committee appointed by Govt as per S 6 of the Kerala Professional Colleges or Institutions Act 2006

a) The fee under the Management Quota includes the tuition fee, development Fee and any other Fee fixed by the Fee Regulatory Committee.

The tuition fee will be in accordance with the order in force, judgment, or order of any court or other authority.

Other fees will be as decided by the Fee Regulatory Committee and this may include University Affiliation fee, cost of Records, Laboratory Expenses, Pharmakalolsav Fees, Annual Sports Meet, Medical expenses, etc.

LOCATION
The location of the college and institute is in a grand eleven acre campus at Marayamuttom, 25 Km south to Thiruvananthapuram City. The campus is surrounded by a lush garden of invaluable herbs which provides a salubrious environment. This site has a historical relevance too. In 1888 the adjoining Aruvippuram village witnessed a landmark moment of Malayalee renaissance The temple consecration by Sree Narayana Guru.

ECO-FRIENDLY STRUCTURE
The college is built up in a vast area of 11 Acres and is facing the Neyyattinakara Aruvippuram road. The present three story building is about 300 Mtrs from this road and is situated well above the Ground level. The cool breeze from the lush green area provides a healthy study atmosphere to the students.

WELL - EQUIPED LABORATORIES
The College houses , well laid out, well equipped and well maintained laboratories for different branches of Pharmacy viz. Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Microbiology & Biotechnology and Computer Education.

There is a Medicinal Garden with an array of Medicinal Plants beside the main College building.

LIBRARY
The college has an excellent Health Sciences library. The state of the art library is a domain for information seekers; be it students, faculty or researchers. Besides comfortable seating and reading environment, facilities such as photocopying and internet are provided.

The library has over 3000 volumes of books and subscribes many national and international journals. The library has all the facilities for the students to learn. In addition to books, the library also provides many journals and full text research articles in CD version. A drug information center is also provided for the students.

FACULTY MEMBERS
Ezhuthachan College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of the (pioneer) institutes in Pharmaceutical Education started by the Ezhuthachan National Academy under the Thunchan Smaraka Samithi. The college is committed in rendering quality education in the filed of Pharmacy.

The faculty of the college is a congregation of scholars with a laudable track record as teachers, trainers, professionals and researchers. Most of them have Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and have several years of experience. Many of them have several research publications in National and International journals and seminars to their credit.

The College is conducting seminars and Symposia at frequent intervals with a view to update the knowledge of the teachers and nurture the students to develop tutorial skills.

The College also arranges training facilities for students under the best available Hospitals and Manufacturing Units during the third and final years.

The College also aims at providing 100% placements for the students passing out of this College.
