Message From Trustees
Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital was established in the year 2001 under the aegis of Era Educational Trust with a vision to establish a centre of excellence in the field of Medical Education, Health Care and Research. After getting recognition in the year 2006 for MBBS degree course from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Government of India and Medical Council of India the college is now running postgraduate courses in 18 subjects. The college has been listed with the WHO/AVICENNA and IMED/FAIMER directories.

Students after successfully completing MBBS degree course from Era's Lucknow Medical College have been selected in postgraduate courses of various Government Medical Colleges through the All India Postgraduate Competition and UPPGME. Some of the students have also brought laurels to college by clearing USMLE.

The realization of this dream was achieved due to clear vision of trustees who had a burning desire to tread on the challenging path of truth and excellence. The fire was kept aflame by the untiring efforts of the highly experienced and 'stalwarts-of-their-field' faculty. We are proud of all our success but also feel humbled by our achievements.

We must push the horizons of knowledge, and for that our sights must not be on what has past, but on what remains to be achieved. Our endeavor has been to emphasize 'student centric' rather than 'teacher centric' training. We view the role of a teacher as a facilitator who helps students 'learn the subject', rather than merely 'teach the subject'.

The aim of the college is not only to produce doctors with a good clinical acumen, but also to inculcate in them ethics and values by which they can treat the patients with a human touch.

Therefore, the Trust is supporting multi-specialty, charitable, teaching hospital for teaching and training of UG and PG medical students. The hospital not only provides excellent patient care to the poorest of poor extending from primary to tertiary care, it is also our endeavour to expose students to all recent and modern patient management protocols.

Our commitment to research is firm as any teaching institution can not go a long way without having a dedicated team of researchers. We have a fully functional Research Cell which not only encourages the faculty but PG's and UG's are also involved in various, extra mural and intramural research projects. Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow brings to the semi-urban and rural population in and around Lucknow the best medical facilities in the state at subsidized rates. The charity work done by the hospital benefits the poorest of the poor. Free admission, free medicine and free meals are provided to patients from underprivileged sections of society. Diagnostic services are also available free of cost for such patients. The registration fee for a patient is a token amount of Re. 1/- after which the patient can consult highly experienced doctors for a period of 15 days during which patient is also provided with medicines. Beds are provided to in-patients @ Rs. 5 /- per day.

For the children of employees of ELMC&H an English medium school has been established within the campus. Books are provided free of cost. Uniform is provided at subsidized rates. A nominal fee of Rs. 50/- per month is charged which is further reduced to Rs. 10/- to charge as a token amount for Extremely needy students just to maintain their self respect.

The EET through its tireless efforts aims at inculcating the traits of honesty, compassion, courage, persistence and responsibility among students, so as to enable them to become competent doctors on one hand, and sensitive and caring human beings on the other.

Hospital

Era's Lucknow Medical College has a fully functional 700-bed hospital complete with all facilities and advanced technology. Students are provided with adequate opportunities to interact with patients and gain firsthand clinical experience. The hospital is located in an imposing seven-storey complex that houses the various departments and their respective wards. Trauma and Emergency services are available 24X7.

Well-trained Casualty Medical Officers who are assisted by a number of senior and junior doctors and other ancillary staff manage this section. There are nearly a dozen Operation Theatres accessible to this section.

The hospital is having one of the best Radiology centre in north India, having state-of-the-art MRI machine (Hitachi, Japan), Spiral CT Scanner, Mammography machine, High-Resolution Colour Doppler, the latest Ultrasound machine and latest X-ray machines (800mA, 500mA, 300mA, 100mA, dental x-ray, mobile x-ray etc.).

The state-of-the-art ICU is equipped with a central monitoring system, piped oxygen, suction and compressed air, ventilators, defibrillator and blood gas analyzer.

• For critical neonates requiring extra care, the hospital has a hi-tech fully equipped specialised NICU.
• The hospital is supported by all 24 departments, including the Super Speciality department like Paediatric Surgery etc.
• Super Specialist doctors are employed to render expert opinion and treatment to needy patients.
• Blood Bank now has the competence to provide constituent components, mainly pack cells, platelets and FFP. For this the department has acquired sophisticated internationally branded instruments/equipment such as plasma expresser, platelet incubator C Agitator, Cell Separator (aphaeresis), deep freezer (-400C-800C), Plasma thawing bath, refrigerated centrifuge & laminar air flow etc.
• The hospital owns an army of technicians and qualified nurses to provide technical and humanitarian backup to our doctors and patients.
• The facility of Haemodialysis is available at very competitive rates for cases of kidney failure.
• Departments of Nephrology, Paediatric Surgery, Paediatric Genetics and Medical Oncology have also been introduced.

ICU
We have 6 bedded. Our ICU as well equipped ICU we have 8 monitor to check the U/S by monitors and all monitors are attached with central monitor we can watch all the patients. We have two ECG machine and one defrilator also we have cenralise 02 and suction services with each bed. For life supporting we have 4 ventilator for 6 patients. We have 6 infusion pump also, we have ABG machine in ICU to check the Arterial blood gases. We have Bi-pap machine also, in each shift we have 3 trained nursing staff and one cardiac technician in and one SR doctor round the clock in ICU and two ward boy to help the staff and patients.

Internet Section

• An excellent and resourceful central library with seating capacity for 250 students is a popular niche in the college.
• There are more than 15,000 books, including medical, textbooks and reference books.
• The library subscribes to more than 80 Indian Journals and 73 International journals.
• More than 500 medical CDs are available for interactive consultation.
• The hospital owns an army of technicians and qualified nurses to provide technical and humanitarian backup to our doctors and patients.
• Internet facility is available to students and faculty members. The computer section of the library is fully air-conditioned.

Gymnasium
ELMC has a well equipped gymnasium and sports ground with courts for volley ball, basket ball, badminton, football ground- to name a few. Indoor game facilities like carom, chess, and table tennis are also available in both the hostels.

Biometric Attendance System
ELMC believes in imparting personalized attention to each student. Small groups are formed for practicals, demonstrations and clinical postings. ELMC has installed Biometric Attendance system to insure regular attendance in all lectures. Students have to just place their finger on the Biometric Machine to register their attendance in the class, if one fails to do the same SMS will be send to that particular student's parent/guardian intimating the absence of their ward in the class of that particular subject. We have harnessed technology to ensure seriousness and punctuality among students, and this has helped us maintain high academic standards
