Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College

Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College is located in the commercial town of Kanpur. The town of Kanpur is accepted by the most holy river 'Ganga' from two sides, north west by Kalyanpur and northeast by Jajmau. During the British period the town was known as Cawnpore. It has a unique position in Hindu myth. Currently the Kanpur town is popular for its industrial company and academic institutions.

The university is accommodated with hospital and college in huge buildings. The main campus looks like a palace and is the greatest amongst all healthcare institutions in U.P. The main hospital (L.L.R Hospital) along with smaller units like Chest Hospital, Infectious disease hospital, Children's hospital, Maternity hospital, Cancer institute and Cardiology institute, represent the greatest patient care center in Asia.

The remodeled central library has a huge & a new collection of books and referral guides. It registers to a lot of National and International journals in the medical field.

LECTURE THEATRE
There are 4 lecture theatres. Lecture theatre 1 & 3 are on the ground floor and 2 & 4 on first floor.
The lecture theaters are big enough to provide about 300 learners in each. All the lecture theaters are completely air-conditioned, prepared with audio visuals and multi-media with a power back-up.
