Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a recognized institution and is situated in the North West of China

There are over 6,000 students in five major departments: this includes Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pharmacology, Acupuncture and Orthopedics, Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Nursing.

In addition to these specialization the university also has an experience in twenty areas. The university also offers research experience to the students of master's, bachelor's, associate's, and exchange students. The university has three research institutes and forty-three research offices with two attached hospitals and 800 beds. The university also associated with thirty-two teaching hospitals with a ward of over 5,000 beds.

The TCM Internal Medicine includes pulmonary disease, urology, skin disease. Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Massage Therapy. The number of staff at the college and hospital is more than 1,300, including 600 lectures, chief doctors and has a library that maintains over 220,000 books.

The school of Medicine has engaged in 200 research projects of which 100 projects get awards for excellence.
In recent years the medical college offered courses to accept exchange students from the United States and from various European countries, Japan, Hong Kong and train many of the students in Chinese acupuncture.

The university establishes relationship with individual, academic organizations, and research institutions internationally who have engaged in the fields of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Areas of specialization for both degree and non-degree students:
1) Acupuncture, moxibustion and massage therapy
2) TCM treatment and therapy
3) TCM orthopedics and traumatology
4) TCM pharmacology
5) Tibetan Medicine
6) Nursing and Dietetics

Language Requirements:

  • The language of instruction for students pursuing a degree is Mandarin Chinese. The Chinese language proficiency level for these students should be at least intermediate.
  • The language of instruction for non-degree students is Mandarin Chinese and English.
Academic qualifications:
  • Students pursuing a vocational or bachelor's degree should have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Students Pursuing a master's degree should have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent.
