Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College (GMMMC) is the sixth Medical College under the Government of Sindh where 100 meritorious students get admission. It is affiliated to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) in Pakistan.

In 2011 the university is home to 500 students in the MBBS program. The university has a large and experienced staff to support its objective of education, research, and clinical care. Faculties have appointments in the basic science and clinical departments of Teaching Hospitals and other offices in Sukkur. There are approximately 75 faculty members.

Recognition
The University is identified by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council examined the College at 2008. The team recommended the GMMMC for registration and it was fully approved by PMDC. Federal Ministry of Health Government of Pakistan Islamabad has declared it as recognized Medical College.

Societies and clubs
The College would not allow any student association, except societies and clubs.

Facilities
The basic science department generally has experienced and Associate Professors. Laboratories have advanced equipments, like Spiro meter labs, treadmill, Power Lab etc. Anatomy Models and books are plenty. Seminar rooms are available in each department.

The library is open for 18 hours a day with lots of reference books as per the syllabus of PMDC. IT Center has 22 computers with Internet connection.

Transportation:
There is well furnished cafeteria available inside the college. Besides this transportation Service the students and staff have Five Hino Luxury buses running from Sukkur to Ranipur and Sukkur to Daharki covering about 60-70 km. Two Air-conditioned coaches are available for Pick and drop facility to the staff of the GMMMC.

Sports:
Indoor games like badminton, table tennis are available at hostels and sports week is celebrated with full of fair and awards. Each batch of students visits Medical Colleges in Pakistan along with historic places.

Social activities
This medical school provides extracurricular activities to its students. Day/night cricket tournaments and other sports tournaments are conducted. Students and the faculty members also arrange medical camps and blood donation camps in Sukkur and the surrounding localities.

Picnics, trips to Karachi, and excursions to Rahimyarkhan, Kot Diji Fort,Aror, and Mohenjo-Daro are common. Qirat, Hamd and Naat contests are consistently done at GMMMC as well as debate and art events contests.
