Government Medical College, Kota is situated on Rangbari Road, from the Kota railway station and 10 kilometers away from the bus stand.

The long waiting for the need of Medical College in Kota was achieved by the state government. The Govt. Medical College Kota came into existence in March 1992. The first set of 50 learners was confessed in 1992-93 period and frequent sessions of this set were begun in an ESI hospital. This university was accredited by MCI in 1998.

The university building:
This university consists of the college building, management block, auditorium, indoor courts and gym, hostels, guest house, staff accommodation, and Hospital. Four faculty theaters with a capacity of 100 learners in each theater, central library and a well prepared conference hall are also located in the college building.

Courses:
The non clinical and pre clinical subjects are Anatomy, Physiology, Bio chemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic medicine and Preventive & social medicine.

Postgraduate programs were begun in the year 2002 and in the specialization of Pediatrics, TB & Chest diseases and Psychiatry. At the moment the available programs for PG in this university are General Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopedics, ENT, Anesthesiology, Radio diagnosis, Pediatrics, TB & Chest diseases, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Microbiology. Since 2004 the 50 seats for MBBS course have been improved to 100 seats through central and state pre medical test.
