Guru Ghasidas University
Guru Ghasidas University is a Central University of India, located in Bilaspur. The university was inaugurated on June 16, 1983. GGU is the member of the Association of Indian Universities and Commonwealth Universities. The National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) have recognized the University. The university is named to honor the great Satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas (born in the 17th century), who championed the struggle against all forms of social evils prevailing in the society.

Health center
The Health Center is located near the University fulfill the needs of the students, and employees of the University. Every now and then, professional physicians from Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) visit the Health Centre. More than 7174 sufferers were analyzed and handled at the Center during 2010-11.

This center covers an Electrocardiography (ECG) machine and a Chemical Blood Analyzer to perform blood tests, ambulance and emergency services with 24 hour service. The Centre also has limited in-patient facility.

Student's welfare
Besides education and academic performance, the school motivates the learners to achieve complete character development. The school is dedicated to generate not only qualified professionals but also provide good human principles to them. To accomplish this purpose, the school makes serious initiatives to provide possibilities for the learners to execute non-academic abilities. The University structured the first state level inter-university youth festival in 2002.

NSS
The Vishwavidyalaya has three units of National Service Scheme (NSS) with a strength of 300 students. The aim of NSS is to provide a chance and practical knowledge for social services. The learners get involved in various actions like a plantation, blood donation, seminar, quiz, debate etc. Two learners has been granted the Indhra Gandhi NSS award. Total 432 units are working and 37500 cadets are enrolled.

Computer lab
The University has established a Computer lab prepared with the latest editions of software and components. This provides a service for the growth of training, research, administration, exam, and finance.

Bank
The Campus has been provided with banking facilities such as Punjab National Bank, and Post Office is rendering their services. ATM and online banking are available at the PNB.

Also State Bank of India provides ATM (24 hours) facilities inside the campus. A telephone exchange is also established in the campus. Broadband service is made available to University departments and offices and quarters.

Cafeteria
The university has a cafeteria on the campus. This provides snacks, tea, cool drinks, beverages, etc. It functions from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all working days. A canteen panel hired by the School watches the quality, prices & standard.

Sports:
The School has a well prepared sports and physical education to play Volleyball, Khokho, Basketball, Lawn tennis etc. There is one sports complex to enhance the fitness abilities of youth.

Library
Central library was recognized in 1984 to assist its academic actions. The present Collection consists of more than 105000 books, 3950 back volumes of journals and 1100 Ph.D. theses. Now, it subscribes about 118 Indian and 34 foreign journals in various disciplines. The library is facilitated with internet and WI-Fi facilities. More than 400 students/research scholars/faculty members are accessing WI-Fi services.
