Fracture and orthopedic hospital was established in the year 1967 by Dr. G. S. Kulkarni and Dr. Shashikala Kulkarni. Due to their untiring work hospital expanded steadily. It was recognized as a Post Graduate training center by Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Medical Council of India, New Delhi, National Board of examination, New Delhi and College of Physician and Surgeon, Mumbai. In the course of time Dr. Milind, Dr. Sunil, Dr. Ruta, Dr.Vidisha and Dr. Rajiv Limaye joined them and developed various super-specialties in orthopaedics.

Due to the highly skilled and dedicated team of orthopaedic surgeon, the postgraduate institute become famous and a referral center for trauma and orthopaedic. Patients form all over the country and from abroad poured in for deformity correction, for non-union and other specialities in orthopaedics. With the grace of god and co-operation of medical professional & friends, the hospital has an excellent infrastructure with all modern equipments and will continue to serve the society in the years to come.

Education Programme :
The Post graduate Institute of Swasthiyog Pratisthan, Miraj is one of the oldest private Post Graduate institute which is recognised by MCI for Postgraduate studies in orthopaedic subject Since 1984.This has all the facilities for teaching with well trained teaching staff. This institute has given many renowned orthopaedic surgeons working in different parts in India and abroad.

This has been the prime orthopaedic centre doing excellent original research work . We have published many national and International publications. We have published a Text book of orthopaedics 4 Volumes which is very popular amongst the students. We have been organising Post graduate Training courses since 15 years, which is attended by all post graduate students from all over India.

The MMC has given accreditation points to all the seminars, PG courses, symposiums organised by this institute. This institute has at the moment 2 seats for M.S.(Ortho) and 2 seats for D(Ortho) courses. This institute is affiliated to Maharashtra University Of Health Sciences, Nashik.

• The seats are filled through the CET passed candidates strictly on merit basis. All the seats filled so far are approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti.
• The free structure till today are approved by Shikshan Shulka Samiti.
• The final Fee approved for 2010-11 was Rs. 6,25000/-.The final fee of the 2011-12 will approved by Samiti and will be Uploaded on our website
