Jaya College of Paramedical Sciences ,College Of Pharmacy is one of the Major Institutions managed by the Jaya Educational Trust and this College was established in 15th July,2001 Tamilnadu vide G.O. Ms. No. 1654 Education. This College is a Self-financing College Recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and also Approved by the All India Council for the Technical Education, New Delhi.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
The duration of the above mentioned course is 4 full acadamic years leading to Courses awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai. The medium of instruction is English and the syllabus for the course is that prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University. The College follows Non yearly pattern.

The B.Pharm course is of four years duration (Non-Semester), for which the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, conducts the qualifying examinations. Students completing this degree course are eligible to register as pharmacist and practise the profession throughout India as per the rules and regulations of Pharmacy Council of India.

Through this degree program the students are trained to work in hospitals as well as in pharmaceutical manufacturing and analytical units. Apart from the usual curriculum, the college provides practical training in pharmaceutical industries and in hospitals all over India. Students completing the degree program in this institution are thus themselves getting enormous confidence and ability in their profession.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. Application for admission to a course should be made in the prescribed application form which is available along with the prospectus.
2. Incomplete application forms will not be accepted. All the details furnished by the candidates in the application form should be accurate and correct.
3. Applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.
4. Completed application must accompany a Postal Order/ DD for Rs. 300/- as registration fees.
5. Application for admission to the courses should be submitted to the principal of the Jaya College of Pharmacy & Paramedical only by Designation and NOT BY NAME.
6. Certificate of permanent residence, should be produced by the candidates who have passed the HSC or their equivalent examinations from High Schools situated outside Tamil Nadu for considering them as candidate belonging to Tamil Nadu. (note: The name of guardian should be mentioned only if both parents of the candidate are deceased.)

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION

Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes for admission to the Pharmacy Course should have obtained not less than 50% marks on aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/ Zoology) at the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, the minimum marks for admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for General Category.
Graduate candidates should have qualified for the B.Sc. Degree of an Indian University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and accepted as equivalent by the standing Academic Board and Governing Council of this University subject to such conditions as may be prescribed therefore with one of the following subjects as major subject viz. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and one other prescribed Science subject of study at least up to the ancillary level: provided that such candidates shall have passed the earlier qualifying examination (Higher secondary Examinations or an equivalent examination) with the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany and Zoology.
Where the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre-professional training before admission to the Dental Colleges.
The Pre-Professional/ Pre-Medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination or the pre-university or an equivalent examination. The Pre-Professional/ Pre-Medical examination shall include.
Candidates who have studied abroad, the equivalency of qualification as determined by the Association of Indian Universities shall from the guidelines to determine the eligibility and should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/ Zoology) and English upto the 12th Standard level with 50% marks aggregate.

Age Limit for Admission.

The candidates should have completed the Age of 17 years at the time of admission (or) would complete the mentioned age on (or) before 31st December of the admission to the first year B.Pharm course.
Each application should be accompanied by Xerox copies of the following:
XII Mark Sheet or its equivalent as the case may be.
Transfer Certificate from the School last studied.
Conduct Certificate from the Head of the School last studied.
Community Certificate issued by a competent authority in the case of BC/MBC/SC/ST.
Foreign students must also submit:
No Objection certificate of HRD, Government of India
Valid student visa.

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will receive interview cards which are valid only until the date specified. The receipt of interview cards does not guarantee admission. At the time of interview the College Office will scrutinize all the original certificates of the candidate. Selected candidates will be issued admission cards after payment of fees.

The selected candidates have to produce all the Original Certificates with Three Passport Size Photograph in the College and they will not be returned till the completion of the course. They are therefore advised to take sufficient Xerox copies of all the certificates before submitting the originals to the College.

Fees once paid will not be refunded. Students dismissed on disciplinary grounds will forfeit the entire fees.

A student once enrolled for course is expected to complete the same.If a student wishes to leave the college at any time before the completion of the course he/she will have to pay the entire fees for the whole course.

The campus is located at Thiruninravur, Chennai, Tamilnadu.

College Rules and Regulations
1.College Timings: 9.00 to 3.30 p.m
Students are not permitted to enter into the Campus after 9.00 a.m and not allowed to leave the college before 3.30 p.m. Visitors are strictly not allowed during the Class Hours.

2.Identity Card: Each student will be issued with an Identity Card with name, photo and signature. they should bring the identity card while coming to the college all the times.

3.Staff In-chrage: Each and every student will be attached with a staff as a student counselor/staff incharge.This Counselor will advice/counsel on academic and other activities for the entire academic needs.

4. Ragging: Govt. of Tamil Nadu has banned Ragging in Educational Institutions by passing government Order.

Hence any one indulging in Ragging will be punished as follows:
A.Imprisonment upto a term of 2 years
B.A fine upto Rs. 10,000/-
C.Student convicted for Ragging will be dismissed from the Institution and shall not be admitted to any other Educational Institution.
Hence all students particularly the Senior students have been advised not to indulge in Raggingh but to rise up totally against this evil.

General Rules & Regulations
The Management reserves the right of admission. In matters of admission, academic programmes, extra curricular , co-curricular activities and students discipline the decisions of the management shall be final and binding on all parties concerned.

The Management reserves the right to increase fees for any course of study at the beginning of the academic year, if necessary. Tuition fees and other fees should be paid on or before the stipulated dates.

All admisions are made provisionally and subject to the approval of the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

Indulgence in activities of Union or association based on Caste, Color, Creed, language, Nationality or Political ideology will not be permitted within the premises of the College or in the hostels.

The Management reserves the right to expel from the college any student on grounds of serious irregularity of attendance, insubordination, malpractice in examination or any other act of indiscipline or misconduct. the decision of the college authorities in this regard shall be final.

The students should not loiter in the college premises when the classes are in progress. When they are free, they should make use of the college library.

Ragging in any form is serious offence and those including in it will be summarily dismissed. The cause of expulsion will be entered in their Transfer Certificate.
Strict discipline will be maintained in the College campus. Non-compliance with the guidelines or regulations of the college will be severely dealt with by appropriate disciplinary action.

Students can take part in inter - college competitions, TV/Radio Programmes, only after getting the prior permission from the Principal.

Attendance
1. Students attendance is given priority in the academic life of the College. It is imperative that a student secures a minimum attendance of 80% to be eligible to appear for the University Examinations at the end of each semester.
2. Students who are absent on medical grounds should produce a Valid Medical Certificate along with an endorsement letter from the parent/guardian while reporting to College after recovery from illness.
3. A student who is continuously absent for 30 days without a valid reason will be removed from the rolls of the College
