History
Jhalawar Medical College, Jhalawar was established by forming a society by the government of Rajasthan, which was registered as Jhalawar Hospital and Medical College society, Jhalawar at Jaipur on 8Th august 2007.

The new Hospital and College started functioning from 27th March 2008. The first batch was admitted in 2008 through RPMT. The classes of this batch started from 5th August.

JMC as you know is the most recent Medical College of Rajasthan funded by the government of Rajasthan by forming Jhalawar Hospital & Medical College Society in the year 2008.

• The first batch of students started realizing the dream to become, "Good Doctor's" on 5th August 2008.
• The first batch was a batch of eager and enthusiastic "Doctor's" who were eager to learn as much as possible. Initially there was much apprehension in the mind on both "Parent's and Student's" about the Hospital and College. But these were laid to rest once they saw the facilities and faculty of the College.
• This has been proved by the result of first MBBS batch in which our students got six positions out of first ten in the first MBBS Exams conducted by the Rajasthan University of Health Science, Jaipur. The second batch was admitted this year.
• Our faculty which consists of first time Assistant Professors, Associate Prof. & Professors are equally enthusiastic in providing the best academic fodder for their brain. Let me assure you all the Parent's that the college will continue to progress in the coming years and your wards will become not just Doctors but "Good Doctor's" with a vision to serve the patients and community at large.
• The motto our college,"Service before Self" will become their life's motto.

Overview

• The Hospital consists of three blocks the main block is a four storied building consisting inpatient departments and various patient related facilities.
• The second block is a two storied building accommodating various OPDs, Casualty and other facilities.
• The Third Block is still under constructions and will accommodate Obst. & Gynae and Paediatrics Department.
• At present these facilities are being run in the old SRG hospital building within the campus.

The new Hospital and College started functioning from 27th March 2008. The first batch was admitted in 2008 through RPMT. There are 100 seats out of which 15 seats were reserved NRI students, 35 seats are of high tuition fee as per Bhargav commission constituted by Honorable Rajasthan High Court for regulation of fees for medical studies. The remaining 50 seats are government seat with fee structure as other government Medical Colleges in Rajasthan. From 2009, 15% of government seats are filled by AIPMT.

The afternoon time was devoted to literary activities. These included

• Hindi Essay writing
• GK Quiz

In 2010 the college week i.e. HEART BEAT2010 was planned but had to be postponed after the first day of events due to certain un -avoidable circumstances. It will be held at a later date, the dates have not yet been finalized.
