HISTORY OF MEDICINE UNIVERSITY FACULTY RIAU
At the beginning Riau University School of Medicine (FK Unri) named Riau University Medical Education Program (PPD Unri) who began the process of learning from the issuance of the Decree of the Operation Permit Unri No.3082/D/T/2001 Medical Education Program. On 25 September 2001 by the Director General of Higher Education.

With the issuance of the decree, the academic year (FY) 2001/2002, PPD Unri accept 62 students were selected through UMPTN (College Entrance Negri) Special and PBUD (Regional Excellence Seed Search) to all districts / cities in Riau Province . PPD Unri inaugural lecture held at the Hall of Riau Province governorate on September 3, 2001 which was opened by the Governor of Riau H.Saleh Djasit, SH, whereas a public lecture given by Prof.dr.H.Khamardi can he have kingship, Spb, from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Andalas (FK Unand) Padang and is also the chairman of the Assistance Team PPD Unri.Awalnya lectures and lab activities and administrative activities conducted on the campus of Bina Widya Unri, Simpang New and Complex hospital in Riau province. But Since TA 2003/2004 all activities have been implemented in the new campus PPD Unri Jalan Diponegoro 1 Pekanbaru Riau built by the provincial government. The new campus was inaugurated by the Governor of Riau H.Saleh Djasit, SH on August 8, 2003 and put into use officially on 23 September 2003.

Pioneering efforts FK Unri establishment begins with the signing of the cooperation between Unri with the Office of the Ministry of Health (MOH Regional Office) Riau province on January 26, 1999. Then on June 26, 1999 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) tripartid a partnership between the Provincial (Provincial) Riau, Unri and Unand especially the Faculty of Medicine at the date of January 22, 2000. As a follow up to the date of January 27, 2000 signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Unri Regional General Hospital (Hospital) Riau Province.

A number of Working Meeting (raker) with the guidance of the Disciplinary Commission of Health Science (KDIK) Directorate General of Higher Education (DG Education) conducted in preparation for the establishment of PPD Unri. In addition to implementing a working meeting was held visitation. For the preparation and establishment of PPD visitation Unri then Prof.dr.Foedil Oenzil, PhD, from FK Unand appointed as Acting. Chairman of PPD Unri by Riau University Rector Decree No. 196/J19/KP/2001 Date June 13, 2001 concerning the appointment Prof.dr.Foedil Oenzil, PhD as Chairman of PPD Riau University. Number 196/J19/KP/2001 dated June 13, 2001 concerning the appointment Prof.dr.Fadil Oenzil, PhD as chairman of PPD Unri.

Visitation made by independent team of four people sent by KDIK Higher Education on April 1-5, 2001. Visitation prepared for such things as curriculum, plan Term Development Short / Medium / Long, tenured faculty and academic staff and outstanding faculty. At the time of visitation be seen and visited all preparation software and hardware. In addition, the network also visited the main practice field hospitals Riau Province Main Education Hospital, Health Center Tassel, Airtiris health centers, and hospitals Bangkinang.

Visitation Team also held face to face with the Governor of Riau, Riau Provincial Parliament, Riau Provincial Health Office, and the Dean and Faculty of Medicine, University of Andalas in Padang. As a result of recommendations KDIK support the establishment and opening of PPD Unri in FY 2001/2002.

On 20 April 2004 the Director General of Higher Education Prof.dr.Satryo Soemantri Brojonegoro direct opportunity to review the new campus and the process of education PPD Unri be Riau University School of Medicine (FK Unri). Furthermore, by virtue of Decree No. 190/J19/AK/2004 Riau University President dated December 15, 2004 on Education of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau 22/J19/KP/2005 Number Date January 26, 2005 concerning the appointment of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau.

For the development of FK Unri, then forged partnership with various parties including Unand, Riau province, the Department of Health (PHO) Riau, Riau Provincial Hospital, City Government (City Government) Pekanbaru, Pekanbaru City Health Office, Mental Hospital Pekanbaru, Bangkinang hospitals, hospitals Rengat Hospital Dumai, Tanjung Pinang hospitals, health centers Tassel, Air Tiris Health Center, National University Of Singapore (NUS), and Muscat Co.Ltd. A non-governmental companies from Japan.

Facilities
12 natural science laboratory, preclinical and preclinical medicine, library, laboratory Skill, Mosque, Auditorium, Basketball and volleyball courts, lecture rooms, exam rooms, administrative space, dean Space, Space senate, and student activity centers.

Hospital Education
As a teaching hospital is a hospital FK Unri Riau province that are designated as Class B Hospital Education Decree by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare (Minister-Social Welfare) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 240/MENKES-KESOS/SK/III/2001 dated March 23, 2001. For activities such as Education Learning Experience at the Hospital, in addition to using the hospital as a hospital Riau Province Main Education, also using Mental Hospital Pekanbaru, Bangkinang hospitals, hospitals Rengat, Dumai hospitals, and hospitals Tanjung Pinang as RS educational support.

Hospital Riau province has 13 sections that must be followed by students during the activity Learning Experience at the Hospital, the Section of Medicine, Section of Surgical Sciences, Section of Pediatrics, Section of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Section of Forensic Medicine, Section of Medicine Eyes, The Soul of Medicine, Section of ENT Diseases, Section of Dermatology & Venereology, Section of Neurology, Radiology, Section Anastesilogi, and Section of Dental & Mouth Disease. Currently hospitals Riau province continues to develop their physical and non-physical so it can be a place of education and health services.

Field Learning Experience
In addition to following CPB and PBRs, FK Unri students should also follow the activities of Learning Experiences in the Field (PBL). By following the PBL students can interact directly with the community and learn tackling public health issues through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. In a systematic socialization of medical students, community diagnosis and intervention program that is expected after completing their education and ability to implement science well in society / community.

As the implementation of PBL is in the Village District Rumbai Sri Meranti Pekanbaru, Pekanbaru Rumbai health centers, and health centers Airtiris Kampar regency. Besides learning experience organized by the Faculty of Medicine, beginning in 2008 students are also required to implement FK Unri Field Work (CCN) in accordance with University regulations Riau.
