About the College:
Established in 2006, the UCF College of Medicine is one of the first U.S. medical schools in decades to be built from the ground up. As a new medical school, UCF program epitomizes innovation, high-tech learning tools and a pioneering spirit to educate young doctors and scientists in a new and better way for the 21st century.

This year, the M.D. program enrolled its third class of 80 students, bringing total enrollment to 180. Soon, the college will be at full enrollment, educating 480 physicians-in-training each year. The College of Medicine Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences is training over 2,350 undergraduate majors in the biomedical sciences: Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Molecular Biology and Microbiology. The school also offers master degrees in Molecular Biology and Microbiology and Biotechnology as well as doctoral degree in Biomedical Science.

The UCF College of Medicine is a forward-looking medical school with a culture based on partnerships and collaboration. The college medical and biomedical programs capitalize on UCF existing strengths in biological sciences, modeling and simulation, engineering, optics and photonics, psychology, chemistry, film and digital media, business, and nursing.

The college is an integral part of the growing medical city at Lake Nona. The UCF Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona now includes the medical school new 170,000-square-foot medical education facility, featuring the latest in lab and classroom technology, as well as its new 198,000-square-foot Burnett Biomedical Sciences building.

The UCF College of Medicine is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please enter through the front doors of the piazza and speak with the receptionist in our front office located on the first floor.

Health Sciences Campus
Comprehensive and innovative, the UCF Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona is a 50-acre state-of-the-art complex for medical education, health sciences education, and biomedical research located about 25 miles south of UCF Orlando campus.

The campus is home to the UCF College of Medicine Medical Education Program and Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, and will house the UCF College of Nursing in the near future. Biomedical Sciences Building
Opened in fall 2009, the 198,000 square-foot Burnett Biomedical Sciences building is five stories of state-of-the-art equipment and space for biomedical researchers. Also housing a major transgenic animal facility and three Biosafety Level 3 laboratories, the facility is an ideal environment for students interested in advancing biomedical research.

Medical Education Building
Opened in summer 2010, the four-story Medical Education building is 168,000 square feet of innovation and cutting-edge technology. Home to the Health Sciences Library and Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, the complex provides an ideal environment for medical students.

Pegasus Health Employment
The University of Central Florida College of Medicine is seeking applications from outstanding primary care physicians for UCF Pegasus Health, its soon-to-be launched faculty clinical practice. Applicants should be exceptional clinicians who wish to practice while spending a portion of their time conducting research or teaching medical students. Pegasus Health physicians will be active collaborators in the design and operation of this model clinical practice.

Pegasus Health is located in a completely renovated 22,000-square-foot facility at 3400 Quadrangle Boulevard, about a block from the main UCF campus. The medical center will also house the college's Regional Extension Center (REC) health information technology initiative, which is helping local primary care physicians adopt electronic health records to improve patient care.

As a state of Florida employee, you'll receive sovereign immunity from medical malpractice. Your clinical practice will be managed by an administrator with 15 years of experience leading the Yale-New Haven Hospital Ambulatory Services Division. You'll be involved in growing the practice through strategic planning, budget planning and feasibility studies. Pegasus Health will have its own billing and collections department. The practice's participation in a variety of clinical trials will offer physicians the opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge research.
